Cadott sent packing as Orioles rack up second win of season

Two games, two wins—thus stands the Oriole record thus far as the dust settles from Friday’s game against Cadott at Forward Field in Oriole Park.
Starting in the first quarter, Stanley-Boyd came out swinging, a run for 46-yards by Jake LaGrander resulting in a touchdown for Stanley-Boyd with 10:05 left in the quarter. Followed up with a two point conversion run by Jesse Allard, the score was 8-0 Orioles.
Quickly following up the first team touchdown with a second, the Orioles Rudy Kletsch ran for a 43-yard0 gain to put the score 14-0 Stanley-Boyd with 3:42 in the first quarter. Followed with a two point conversion pass from Carter Isenberger to Madden Mahr and a third touchdown before quarter’s end by Jackson Gindt off a pass from Isenberger, the 50-yard gain followed with a two point conversion run by Alex Williams left the scoreboard 24-0 Orioles as the second quarter dawned.
Continuing their strong hand, the Orioles scored on a 15-yard touchdown pass from Isenberger to Kletsch, the extra point unsuccessful as the scoreboard read 30-0 Orioles with 11:15 left in the half.
Coming for more action, the Orioles scored a touchdown pass off a 14-yard pass from Isenberger to Madden Mahr, the extra point by Allard bringing things 37-0 Orioles.
Continuing their streak as the half came to a close, the Orioles scored a 12-yard gain for a touchdown off a pass from Isenberger to Gindt, the extra point by Allard bringing the score 44-0 Orioles as the half closed.
Coming back after halftime, the Cadott Hornets held off Stanley-Boyd from further scoring but were unable to even the scoreboard, the final score Friday 44-0 in the Orioles favor.
Head Coach Jeff Koenig shared his thoughts after the game.
“The team played much better this week and it was good to see the progress from week one,” he said. “We have a long way to go to get ready for conference play.”
As for team stats Friday Stanley-Boyd completed 10 passes, with 216 rushing yards and five returns, while the two teams tied on fumble recoveries (2). The Orioles led Cadott in both first downs (12 as compared with 5) and total offense, logging 338 yards to 48 for Cadott.
Cadott led in punting yards, logging 232 to 33 for the Orioles, while the two teams tied on penalty yards (15).
As for individual players, Isenberger led the night for passing, with 15 attempts and 10 completions for a total of 122 yards. Rudy Kletsch led the Orioles for rushing with 78 yards total, followed by Jake LaGrander with 54 yards. Dawson Ewer made 25 rushing yards, Caleb Westrom logging 13 yards, and Oliver Hatfield logging 12. Gunnar Goettl rushed for nine yards, Logan Dorn for six, Alex Williams for four and Jesse Allard for three.
In receiving stats for the Orioles Jackson Gindt led the field, coming away with 62 yards while Madden Mahr took 31 and Kletsch 29 yards.
In Defensive stats from Friday were several tackles, Josh Hager, Jake LaGrander and Storm Tiry each making two. Making one tackle were Gavin Hatfield, Carson Hodowanic, Aaron Sturm, Willy Graham, Dawson Ewer, Caleb Westrom, London Mertens, and Brody Westrom.
Making assisted tackles were Hatfield, LaGrander, Hager, Hodowanic, Sturm, Tiry, Cole Brenner, Graham, Braden Ciszak, and Rily Schad.
The Orioles next play the Fall Creek Crickets Friday September 6 at Stanley-Boyd. Game start is 7 p.m.
