Boyd Little League is gearing up for exciting Little League and T-Ball seasons, that began on Thursday, May 30th at Lotz Park. Promising exciting matchups and good-natured competition, the League has been a cornerstone of the Boyd community for over 70 years.
Little League President Brad and wife, Chris Benson take charge of the League and expressed their excitement for the upcoming season sharing that it’s important to continue the tradition that has been kept alive by the League.
“We feel it’s important because someone needs to keep the tradition going for all the younger kids that are coming up to see what fun is,” says Chris Benson. She mentions that the inclusivity of the League fosters a sense of community and brings everyone together, adding that the Boyd Softball League caters to players of all ages and skill levels and that everyone gets a chance to play.
“We love watching the older kids teach the younger kids,” Benson remarks. “The kids all get along and it’s just nice to see everyone having fun.” Benson also shares that the League is working to purchase a new scoreboard and accessible swings and toys for the park designed for individuals with disabilities.
Benson mentions that this year Family Fun Night begins at 6pm on July 11th and all are welcome to come and enjoy a night of fun family-oriented activities, including softball games, face painting, bounce houses and ending the evening with an exciting fireworks display.
