McQuillan Plumbing-A Legacy of Excellence and Family Tradition

Posted

For over four decades, McQuillan Plumbing has proudly served the Boyd community as a family-operated business known for its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Founded in 1980 by Tom McQuillan, the company has grown from a small, local plumbing service into a respected name in the industry, all while maintaining the personal touch and reliability that only a family-run business can offer. Tom McQuillan established the business with a vision of providing top-notch plumbing services backed by integrity and expertise. His dedication to craftsmanship and customer care quickly earned McQuillan Plumbing a loyal client base and a reputation for excellence. Today, the legacy of McQuillan Plumbing continues under the leadership of Tom’s son, Ryan McQuillan. Since 2022 Ryan has brought a fresh perspective and innovative approach to the company while upholding the core principles, values and work ethic established by his father. Together with his wife, Sarah, Ryan has successfully navigated the company through changing times and evolving industry standards. McQuillan Plumbing continues as a family-run business with Sarah and Tom managing the office operations while four skilled plumbers work in the field.
“We’re also looking to expand our team and currently have an open position for a journeyman plumber,” comments Ryan.
Ryan reflects on the evolution of McQuillan Plumbing since it began. “Our business has grown and evolved significantly since its inception. We’ve transitioned from primarily service work to focusing more on new construction. We’ve also embraced advancements in materials and tools, allowing us to complete jobs more efficiently. Additionally, our workforce has expanded as the business has grown,” he says. McQuillan Plumbing specializes in new residential construction, a focus that has been central to their operations in recent years. They offer a comprehensive range of services including residential plumbing, commercial projects, service calls, and septic system work. Recently McQuillan Plumbing was moved to 812 E. Ingersoll Street in Boyd to accommodate the growing operations. The new space offers additional room for equipment storage allowing for better supply organization which in turn supports the company’s commitment to efficiency and quality service. “The move has positively impacted our business by giving our crew easier access to their tools and materials,” said Ryan. “The improved layout has streamlined our workflow, leading to increased efficiency and better overall service for our clients.”
McQuillan Plumbing is actively involved in the Village of Boyd’s Chamber of Commerce and Ryan and Sarah are both active members of their local community from coaching Boyd t-ball and flag football to playing a significant role in the annual Ringelspiel Days. “We chose to raise our family in Boyd because we love the community and the people here,” Ryan, a native of Boyd, said proudly. His wife Sarah grew up in Thorp, but the village of Boyd quickly won her over and she is now a fourth year Village of Boyd Trustee.
McQuillan Plumbing remains dedicated to its founding principles while embracing the future. Ryan and Sarah are excited about the opportunities ahead and are committed to continuing the tradition of exceptional service that has defined McQuillan Plumbing for more than four decades while continuing to see it thrive and grow for future generations. With a rich history and a promising future, McQuillan Plumbing is poised to remain a trusted name in plumbing for years to come.
