Top finisher for middle school girls at Neillsville was Annelysse Kramschuster in 13th with a time of 16:17.0. The middle school girls took third as a team at Neillsville.
Orioles Head Cross Country Coach Nick Mahr shared the following after results were in.
“It’s a tough course with a big hill at the two mile mark and it was also a hot day,” he said of Neillsville.
“Some of the girls actually ran really good times despite that. It will be the site of the conference meet so we will see this course again. I think we’ll be a lot faster when we run it again after a few more weeks of training.”
As for results from Chetek-Weyerhauser, official times show Wehling in 17th place with a time of 25:56.2, Haylee Shakal finishing 24th with a time of 26:36.0 and Ava Kempf finishing 27th with a time of 26:45.0 Mayah Mahr finished 38th with time of 27:27 while Addison Mahr finished 40th with a time of 27:49.0. Lucy Wundrow took 47th with a time of 28:41.3, with the girls finishing 6th of 10 as a team.
High school boys results from Chetek-Weyerhauser show Elihu Krenzelok finishing 16th with a time of 20:40.4
“They only hosted the high school races because of forecasted storms,” Mahr said of the Dan Conway Invite at Chetek-Weyerhauser. “Our runners times weren’t what we were hoping but it was the roughest and hilliest course we’ve seen all season and still plenty hot so that slowed them down. We still placed well in that field of runners though and are excited to run some fast times now as the weather cools and we have fast courses on three of the next four races.”
As for results at Cadott Sept. 24, the Stanley-Boyd high school girls finished 7th overall as a team, with Shakal finishing 32nd with a time of 23:55.4, Wehling finishing 35th with a time of 24:13.4. Kempf finished 48th with time of 25:12.3, while Wundrow finished 51st with a time of 25:12.7. Addison Mahr finished 54th with a time of 25:28.2, and Mayah Mahr finished 66th with a time of 26:40.1
Elihu Krenzelok 45th for the high school boys with a time of 19:59.1.
John Smit finished first for the middle school boys at Cadott with a time of 11:04.7.
Of Cadott Sept. 24 Coach Mahr said the following.
“It was a good race. There were a lot of teams there and several of the better Division 3 schools. A few of our runners weren’t at 100% for the race so to run the times they did, they should feel good about it,” Mahr said.
The Orioles next compete Saturday, Oct. 5 against multiple schools at Tower Ridge. Start time is 10:00 a.m.
