Orioles defeat Fall Creek 36-8 for third win of season

Three games, three wins. With recent victories over Colby and Cadott, the Stanley-Boyd Orioles picked up another win Friday, defeating the Fall Creek Crickets at Oriole Park with a score of 36-8 in the Orioles favor.
Starting out the first quarter, Madden Mahr took the ball for a touchdown run with 10:37 on the clock, an extra point by Jesse Allard bringing the score 7-0 Orioles. Upping the ante as the clock ticked down, a pass by Carter Isenberger to Cole Brenner for a touchdown followed with a two point conversion run brought the score 15-0 Orioles.
Starting the second quarter with a sizable lead, a touchdown run by Kletsch for a 22-yard gain and two point conversion pass from Isenberger to Jake LaGrander brought the score 23-0 Orioles, with a touchdown pass from Isenberger to Kletsch for a 60 yard gain brought the score 29-0 Orioles with 5:15 left in the half. A followup attempt at a two point conversion pass was unsuccessful, while a 14-yard touchdown pass from Isenberger to Kletsch with extra point by Jesse Allard brought the score 36-0 in the Orioles favor as the half closed.
With Fall Creek holding off Stanley-Boyd over the third quarter, a fourth quarter touchdown pass by Fall Creek followed with a two point conversion pass brought the score 36-8 by game end.
With Cole Brenner and Dredyn Arneson both making interceptions for Stanley-Boyd, the Orioles totaled 142 rushing yards with 30 attempted, while Isenberger and Dawson Ewer split passing yards for a total of 169.
On the receiving end Kletsch and Mahr led the team in receiving yards with a combined total of 151 out of 169 total for the team, while Grant Dusick did three punts for a total of 117 yards and Allard contributed two extra team points.
Orioles Head Football Coach Jeff Koenig shared his thoughts after the game.
“Fall Creek was a better team than we had seen this season,” he said. “It was a good measure of our team’s improvement. We have a very tough battle this week against the #1 team in Division 6, Mondovi.”
The Orioles face Mondovi on Friday, September 13 at Mondovi. Game start is 7:00 p.m.
