Orioles defeat Warriors 56-0 in Friday home game

The Stanley-Boyd Orioles varsity football team is on a roll. With just a few games left in the regular season, the Orioles have so far been undefeated, a 2-0 win over Osseo-Fairchild their closest game.
Meeting Neillsville/Granton Friday at Oriole Park they chalked up another win, coming away with a score of 56-0 against the Warriors. Quarter by quarter results show 13 points in the first quarter, 35 points in the second, eight point in the third, and zero in the fourth for Stanley-Boyd.
The first quarter started out the pattern, Madden Mahr scoring a touchdown on a four yard gain with 10:54 left in the quarter, a followup extra point attempt by Jesse Allard proving unsuccessful. Growing the Oriole lead in the first quarter was Rudy Kletsch, who scored another touchdown on a three yard gain with 6:31 left in the quarter, an extra point by Grant Dusick brining the score 13-0 Orioles.
The second quarter continued the Orioles scoring pattern, with Cole Brenner scoring on a touchdown pass from Carter Isenberger with 9:16 on the clock for a 44-yard gain, an extra point by Jesse Allard bringing the score 20-0 Orioles. Brenner’s touchdown was followed with another by Kletsch, who scored on a 19-yard run with 8:45 on the clock, an extra point by Dusick bringing the score to 27-0 Orioles.
Brenner followed with another touchdown on a pass from Isenberger, running 52 yards to bring the score 33-0 Orioles. An extra point by Allard increased this to 34-0.
The clock running down fast towards the half, Jake LaGrander scored a touchdown on a nine yard run to bring the score 41-0 with 3:04 left in the half. Mahr closed out the half with a touchdown catch from Isenberger, the followup extra point by Allard bringing the score 48-0.
Third quarter saw a touchdown by Dawson Ewer on a 23 yard run, a two point conversion pass from Isenberger to Alex Williams bringing the score 56-0 Orioles, the fourth quarter passing without scoring by either side.
Isenberger led the passing stats with 220 total yards, Josiah Demske logging 37 passing yards and Ewer making one.
In rushing the stats were split, with Williams rushing 32, Mahr 4, Oliver Hatfield 38, Ewer 23, Jackson Gindt 20, LaGrander 26, Logan Dorn 36, Gunnar Goettl 6, and Kletsch 67, for a total of 252 rushing yards.
Top receiving yards went to Brenner with 137, followed by Mahr with 54 and Gindt with 26, Hatfield and Ryan Bowe tying with 19. Williams logged 3 yards.
As for defense, Dredyn Arneson led the Orioles in total tackles with 9, followed by Brenner with 6 and Aaron Sturm with 5. Storm Tiry logged 4 tackles, Gavin Hatfield had 3, and Gindt tied with Willy Graham and Carson Hodowanic for 2. Braden Ciszak, Josh Hager, Max Conley, Dorn, Allard, LaGrander, and Williams each had 1.
Also in game statistics, Brenner had two punt returns for 20.5 yards while Mahr had a kick return for 18 yards. Dusick and Allard each made three extra points for the game.
Still to come in the 2024 regular Orioles varsity football season are games against Regis (Oct. 5), Elk Mound (Oct. 11), and Durand-Arkansaw (Oct. 18).
The Orioles face Regis next on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Carson Park. Game start is 11:00 a.m.
