The 2024 Stanley Truck and Tractor Pull is in the history books, the Rodeo still to come.
With signs announcing the 20th anniversary of the annual event first weekend in June, crowds turned out in force to see the first Truck and Tractor Pull with NTPA officials. One of the event organizers shared more on how it went.
“I think it was quite a success for our first with the NTPA,” Jack Leja shared of the National Truck Puller’s Association. With the WTPA (Wisconsin Truck Puller’s Associaton also involved, neither the Truck and Tractor Pull nor the Rodeo this coming Friday could happen without the hard work of local volunteers.
“Thank you to all our groups that helped put this on,” Leja said of the Truck and Tractor Pull.
With six classes of trucks and tractors to get through, the track for this years’ truck pull was extended into the parking lot, with protective round bales in place—just in case. The announcer gave truck pull history background as the night went on. Among them was the tractor roll cage, a safety feature instituted in truck and tractor pulls in 1999.
With Austin Symbal representing Stanley with the entry “Dream Evil” in the 2.6 Diesel 4x4 category, these are winners for this year’s pull, with category sponsors in parentheses:

Light Limited Super Stock Tractors (Thorp Equipment)
Ryan Lynn of Unity, Wisconsin with ‘Brute Force,’ for a pull of 313.350 feet.

Super Stock 4x4 Trucks (LaGrander’s Hillside Dairy)
Tony Horel of Elk Mound, Wisconsin with ‘Headhunter,’ for a pull of 300.190 feet.

Light Super Stock Tractors (Haas Inc.)
Bryan Bowles of Mount Vernon, Missouri with ‘Alter Ego,’ for a pull of 364.225 feet.

Light Pro Stock Tractors (Westaby Trucking)

2.6 Pro Street Diesel (Fellenz Excavating)

Modified 4x4 (Morries)
Dan Klosinski of Merrill, Wisconsin with ‘Extreme Whiplash’ for a pull of 317.825 feet.

For those looking to have fun this weekend as well, the Stanley Rodeo starts Thursday with the parade grand marshal presentation and queen contest at the Stanley Theater.
Rodeo arena gates open Friday at 6:00 p.m.
