Twelve score and eight years ago—a score being equal to 20, if you’re into math—the American forefathers met at Independence Hall in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, listing their grievances as Englishmen and articulating the case for independence from Great Britain. The document they signed, known to history as the 1776 Declaration of Independence, would change the world.
