The ability to move forward with a wolf harvest season in Wisconsin continues to dwindle. Scientific wild life management took another hit last week when radical environmental groups convinced a willing federal judge from Oakland, California by the name of Jeffery White to place wolves in Wisconsin and other Great Lake States back on the Federal Endangered Species List.
The science community under both the Obama and Trump Administrations previously determined that wolves were a recovered species and removed the population from Endangered Species Act protection in 2011 and 2020. However, both times federal judges intervened to overturn the process. Litigation continues to overlook proven science based state led wildlife management.
Recent statistics have indicated that wolf population estimates are well above state management plan levels in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
