Boyd Village Board votes to allow ATVs

County agreement still required before able to use in town highways

ATVs are coming to Boyd, pending county action. Motioned by Village President Bob Geist and seconded by Trustee Michael Eslinger May 13, the Village Board moved to open all village streets within the corporate city limits to ATV traffic.
But lest you say, ‘why wait,’ there’s still a need for county sign-off on Murray and Center Streets. This is because Murray and Center function as county highways through the village, the county owning the 11 feet on each side of the center and the village owning the rest. With action expected later this summer, the streets of Boyd could soon hum with ATV traffic—though word is still out on golf carts.
That in-village possibility requires further study and ordinance drafting.
