Forward Bank is excited to distribute over $367,000 to lo – cal non-profits participating in the Charitable Money Market (CMMA) program for 2021 and local account owners are to thank. In 2006, the CMMA was established to provide addi- tional funding for non-profits.
Forward Bank has donated over $1.6 million since its in – ception on behalf of CMMA holders. The program experi – enced a 50% donation growth rate in the past year. A total of 44 new non-profits have been added to the list in 2021, bringing the total amount of participating non-profits to
367. “This program is the start of the relationship with our non-profits and will open the door to helping them in other ways,” stated Lindsey Safford, Non-Profit Banker at Forward Bank.
Forward presented Stan- ley Area Food Pantry with a check for $3,548.86 on behalf of customers participating in the CMMA program. Stanley Area Food Pantry saw an in – crease in their annual donation by 144% from 2020 to 2021. The CMMA allows sup porters to open an inter- est-earning money market account while designating a participating non-profit orga – nization to receive a donation from Forward Bank at the end of the calendar year. The do –
nation is based on the custom – er's average account balance.
Forward Bank, Insurance and Investment Services have contributed an additional $363,000 beyond the CMMA program to community orga nizations requesting monetary donations, raffle/basket dona tions or event sponsorships.
