The Orioles triumphed over Thorp at home Thursday, Oct. 10, defeating the Cardinals 3-0 in three sets, 25-16, 25-7, and 25-15 respectively.
Orioles Head Coach Karley Wiensch shared thoughts after the results.
“We played well against Thorp,” Coach Wiensch said. “The girls know that it could be potentially our last home game for the year and they really wanted to win at home. It was also senior night as well, so that gave the seniors some motivation to win as well.”
Rather than going to Somerset this year, the team entered a tournament at Altoona Saturday. Bailey Sikora was out sick, meaning a call for backup. The Orioles played Altoona, Unity, and Rice Lake, losing 3-0 in six sets.
Altoona: 0-2 (18-25, 14-25)
Unity: 0-2 (12-25, 10-25)
Rice Lake: 0-2 (12-25, 20-25)
The Orioles played Owen-Withee in a crossover game Tuesday after press time.
