Girls golf makes progress as regional competition approaches

Now headed towards the regional at Turtleback, the Oriole girls golf team continues to make progress as it heads toward the season finale. Head Coach Devon Wenndt shared thoughts recently on how things are going:
“Coach Gustafson and I continue to be encouraged by the progress that we are seeing from week to week,” Wenndt said. “The improvement has been visibly noticeable, particularly off the tee. As we enter aeration season for many of the golf courses, the putting statistics will be what they will be. Everyone must play the same golf course, and everyone will have a number of both good and bad breaks to contend with. We are excited to put in another couple weeks worth of good work before competing in our Regional at Turtleback again for an opportunity to advance in the WIAA Tournament Series.”
As for individual golf scores, recent results are as follows:

Whispering Pines at Cadott on Sept. 12:
Allie Goodman 58
Vivian Morrow 60
Sydney Gundlach 65
Chloe Isenberger 63
Emily Brenner 60

Varsity team score 241

Valley Golf Course at Mondovi on Sept. 17:
Allie Goodman 56
Vivian Morrow 60
Sydney Gundlach 69
Emily Brenner 65
Chloe Isenberer 68

Varsity team score 249

The Orioles next compete in the Conference Championship at Lake Hallie Sept. 26.
