Headed to Cadott Thursday June 13, the Stanley-Boyd Legion team came away with a narrow 4-5 loss to Post 159.
Starting the top of the first in the lead with two runs to zero for Cadott after Dawson Ewer hit a sacrifice fly to score and Eli Hazuga singled, Stanley-Boyd fought to hold down the Cadott score tally, Post 159 scoring just one run until the bottom of the sixth, leaving the score 3-1 in Stanley-Boyd’s favor.
Surging forward in the last three innings to score four more runs, Cadott edged out a win following a walk off. Leading Stanley-Boyd for hits Thursday was Devon Parker with three, while Chase Olichwer gave Stanley-Boyd a run when he hit a single in the top of the eighth, for the lead, before Cadott surged back.
Coached this year by Jacob Tiry, the Stanley-Boyd Legion still has a long season ahead, with games to come at Altoona, Augusta, and Cadott in the coming week, to name just three. Why not turn out and cheer the team on?
